As a physics teacher, together with a group of my students, wish to participate in the online visit to CERN because we consider it a unique educational opportunity. CERN is the world’s leading research centre in Particle Physics, and introducing students to its work can significantly strengthen their interest in the Physical Sciences. Our participation will help students: -connect the Physics concepts taught at school with their real-world applications at the forefront of scientific research, -understand ideas such as elementary particles, accelerators, and detectors through authentic examples, -become familiar with how scientists work, reinforcing scientific thinking, research ethics, and collaborative culture, -learn about potential career paths and be inspired by CERN’s international environment, broadening their academic and personal horizons. For students of a public Greek secondary school, such an experience provides strong motivation and serves as a catalyst for deeper engagement with science. We believe that the online visit will be a valuable educational tool that will meaningfully contribute to cultivating their curiosity, creativity, and passion for Physics and innovation.
